After 3 years of not doing operations work and being on the floor...and not to mentioned working till late night.....today and next Monday will be somewhat a breath of change, albeit a brief one....
Much that I had enough of those days (which I truly relished), this is a welcomed rest for me.
And today it is a bit different as I 'll be a part of a new team of expats (all 1st timers here in Malaysia)....not much of a supervisory role, but as a reference in terms of their work here......
These expats, 6 of them, are experienced enough..which makes my job easier, but the language barrier is another thing.
Although the general lingua franca is English, it is the slang and grammar and the way we speak that makes the confusion...
One thing I have to take my hat off to the expats is that the sacrifice they have to do - their families & friends back home, the comfortable homes, the familiarity of surroundings and all, just to come to work here..be it for the money, for the experience or for the adventure.....
And they really have to start fresh in a new surroundings, new people, new culture, new rat-race.........and above all..a new hope....
in short, my bros....Welcome to Malaysia...........
